What is a preform mould?

Bottle preform mold is a mold used to make bottles, usually consisting of a mold body and a mold core.
The mold body is usually made of steel or aluminum alloy, in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped or cylinder, with a cavity inside that has the same shape as the preform. The shape and size of the preform is usually matched to the mold cavity used.
The core is the part of the mold, usually made of a heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant alloy, that forms the outer contour of the preform. The mold core is usually installed inside the mold cavity and in contact with the preform.
During the production process, the preform molds need to undergo strict cleaning and disinfection procedures to ensure the hygiene and quality of the preforms. In addition, the service life of the preform mold depends on its material and design, as well as the production environment and frequency of use.
In order to ensure the quality and consistency of the preforms, the mold requires regular maintenance and upkeep, including checking the wear of the mold core, replacing damaged parts and cleaning the mold.
